New Patterns

Well we had another amazing workshop with Helen Gleeson and it was a full house, Helen will be joining us again next year for more workshops.  We have had several new patterns arrive including Linda Benson and Giggle Sprinkle bears.  We have also had 22 new bolts of fabric arrive including some lovely Chritsmas fabric that is 150cm wide, suitable for backing or table clothes.

New Cooper Bear

Well we have been working hard on samples for the shop, however we are still working on Cooper Bears.  So here is Graham he is made from Alpaca and ready for adoption.

Helen Gleeson Workshop

We had a wonderful Sunday with Helen Gleeson this weekend for the first workshop.  I am delighted with the results and I can't believe how much I learned.  Helen is an amazing teacher, she was tireless and so generous, with her wealth of information.  The class was so professionally run and the students were all very happy.  Thanks Helen we cannot wait for the next one.

New Patterns

Well its been an interesting week and we are happy to say that we now have in stock patterns by Monica Spicer, Karen Alderson, Jenni Boylan , and of course the wonderful Helen Gleeson.  Helen is running a real fur workshop at the store next Saturday and we are all very excited.

Visit from Helen

Just had a lovely visit from Helen Gleeson today at the shop, she has left some of her patterns with me including a copy of the lovely Tim Tam that we are making at the workshops in October and December.  I have just completed making one of Monica Spicers lovely patterns with an open mouth and feel very excited about the bears I am making now.  We are running classes at the store on a Thursday night and Wednesday afternoon that have a few places left.

Well things at the shop are going well, we still have some places in our Thursday night Bear class but Friday is full.  We have now had some awesome patterns arrive including wonderful work from The Teddy Tree and Monica Spicer.   I have been having a great time playing with the new patterns and we have a few new creations to look at.   We also have some amazing Alpaca fur and some copic markers .

Outstanding Tutor Award

Tonight I was honored by the Armadale City Council with an Outstanding Tutor award.  I can honestly say it was a total surprise and I felt very touched by the award and the response I had from people.


Introducing  Bucket the latest Cooper Bear ready for adoption.  Bucket is a little bear that has been left in the attic for a long time so now his joints are all wobbly and his coat is dirty and he needs someone to love him.Stay tuned because we also now have wonderful felted bear accessories available at Cottonwool Creations.

New Alpaca Fur

Things at the shop are getting very exciting we have some new patterns and some lovely Alpaca fur.  The first Helen Gleeson workshop is fully booked, we are running another in December.  We want to wish Helen all the best in London next week.

New Patterns coming soon

So today was probably one of the most exciting days I have had in a while, not only have we put plans in place to make a wonderful Bear grotto and Artist bear shop.  I also managed to talk to Monica Spicer and after getting extremely excited about a kit someone gave me for my birthday and talking to her for a while, well actually bending her ear back for a while, she has allowed me to stock some of her patterns in the shop.   Monica was extremely helpful and very giving so if you get a chance make sure you visit her web site.

Changes at the shop

We will be working hard at the shop tomorrow putting in new cupboards to hold some new treasures including some antiques and awesome teddy bears.  Make sure you come for a visit big things are happening with our Teddy bear grotto and the Whispering Forest home.  Our Helen Gleeson workshops are nearly full we have one place left in October and 3 places in December.  Helen is almost ready for her big adventure in London and we wish her luck.  I am sure she will wow them all with her amazing bears.

Helen Gleeson Workshops

We are having the wonderful Helen Gleeson come to the store for 2 workshops, the classes are filling fast and we only have 2 spaces left on the 23rd of October and 3 places left in December.  Be sure you don't miss out.  Helen is an expert and mink bears and has several techniques that will make any bear adorable.

Sold bear at The Teddy Tree

Well it was a big day again for Cooper Bears, the girls at The Teddy Tree sold one of my bears.  I was thrilled and felt even more encouraged to make more bears.

Monkey Farts

I know sounds dreadful but they smell awesome, well at least these one's do.  They are a soy wax melt that we now have available at Cottonwool Creations that are hand made by the lovely Sam from Aroma Candles.

Big day at the shop

Well the Disney fabric has arrived and is already romping out the door.  Davina went up to Rolystone patchwork group and set up our shop and had a huge day up there.  We were busy also with the new wool that everyone is so excited about that looks like ruffles.  We had bear class this afternoon and I have started a new look bear that
I can't wait to release.  Our first workshop with Helen Gleeson is filling up fast so we have set up a second one to cope with the overflow.  Helen is from Bare Cub designs and will be traveling soon to London to show her wonderful bears.

Disney Fabric

Well it was a huge day at the shop today as we got about 20 bolts of Disney fabric, including some wonderful Winnie the pooh and much more.  I am starting on a bear ordered by a lovely lady called Meryl, today.  Also had a lovely chat with Helen Gleeson from Bare cub designs, she is always so generous with her skills and I always learn so much from her.

First Blog

Hi, well here goes, my first ever blog.  I would like to start by thanking my dear friend Helen Gleeson for helping me so much as she is the one who has made the blog so pretty for me.   So we have just finished another Craft fair and launched Cooper Bears.  The fair was wonderful and I really enjoyed the company of the girls from the Teddy Tree, it was a real treat to spend times with the incredible creative and talented bear Artists and glean some of the wealth of knowledge they so willingly share.
